CANCELLATION TERMS
Patients:
I understand that health and other issues may stop you being able to attend your appointment, and this can be unpredictable and last minute. If you need to cancel your appointment, please give as much notice as possible. I will do my best to reschedule your appointment if you prefer and this will not cost anything extra. If you cancel your appointment (and do not wish to rebook) with less than 24 hours notice, this will incur a £25 fee (the rest will be refunded).
Healthcare professionals and other health specialists:

WHAT THIS SERVICE DOES AND DOES NOT PROVIDE
Patients:
This is a scientific consultation.
This means:
❌ No diagnoses can be made
❌ No prescriptions can be made
❌ No treatments will be recommended
❌ This service is not a protocol. I do not promote any particular protocols, but we can discuss the potential pros and cons of any protocols you are thinking of trying
❌ This service does not guarantee that healthcare professionals will take you more seriously
❌ There is no guarantee we will find the exact problems you have
We can:
✔️ Discuss what the evidence says about different treatments to help you make an informed decision when discussing with your healthcare provider
✔️ Discuss and signpost you to information about different diagnoses, and that information might include treatment ideas, but these should be done under medical supervision, which this service does not provide
✔️ Discuss home tests to help identify certain problems
✔️ Help you understand test results
✔️ Discuss what tests may be useful to ask your healthcare provider to do
The in-depth personal investigation is a highly bespoke service for patients. The hourly rate is set at £85, which includes a free first meeting and wrap up meeting (if applicable), as well as accounting for (e.g.) an expected higher burden of emails/contact between meetings. Work will be invoiced every month, or by another pre-arranged schedule. Interim meetings are set at the standard rate (£50 for 30 minutes, or £75 for 60 minutes), and can be booked via the website or by email. Payment should be made within 30 days, unless otherwise agreed. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

This is a scientific consultation. This means it is your duty as the treating clinician to provide care for your patient(s), within any legal and ethical regulatory frameworks you are professionally bound to.
This service aims to give information to guide:

✔️ What diagnoses are worth exploring
✔️ What treatments are common for these diagnoses

Other health specialists:
This is a scientific consultation. This means it is your duty as a health professional to provide care for your client(s) within the scope of your duties and regulatory bodies.
This service aims to give information to guide (for example):
✔️ What precautions to take with long COVID/similar clients, based on current evidence
✔️ Other ways to support such clients based on our current evidence

Time frames
Appointments can be made via the website or if this is not practical, by email. If Long Covid Scientific Consultancy needs to cancel an appointment for any reason, the client will be offered a new appointment as soon as possible, or offered a full refund if they prefer.
With the exception of in-depth personal investigations (which are agreed on a case-by-case basis), for any services requiring reports, Long Covid Scientific Consultancy aims to get these to clients within 2 weeks. If a client has not received a report within 6 weeks, a refund for the cost of the report (£25 or £5 per person for group reports) will be given, and a report will be sent as soon as possible.
Long Covid Scientific Consultancy has full control over working time, methods, and decision making in relation to the provision of the service outlined herein. Long Covid Scientific Consultancy will work autonomously, but will be responsive to the reasonable needs and concerns of the client.
This is a non-exclusive service and Long Covid Scientific Consultancy is free to engage with others during the provision of service.
Clients’ responsibilities
Patients/carers should not construe a discussion about the evidence regarding a treatment as Long Covid Scientific Consultancy recommending the treatment; appropriate medical advice should be sought. Health and healthcare professionals (e.g. clinicians, personal trainers) have a responsibility to their patients/clients according to the standards set by their professional bodies/equivalent. A consultation with Long Covid Scientific Consultancy is to provide information only; how that information is used is not the responsibility of Long Covid Scientific Consultancy. Long Covid Scientific Consultancy accepts no responsibility for harm as a result of any consultation or resultant material that is provided.
Data protection and intellectual property
In order to carry out these services, it may be required that I know some personal information. Please see our privacy policy on the booking page for full information. All personal data Long Covid Scientific Consultancy collect as part of the service will be stored in password protected files where applicable. Such data will not be shared unless pre-agreed verbally or in writing by the client, unless otherwise required by law. Data will be stored for up to five years after the last consultation or contact between Long Covid Scientific Consultancy and the client.
The reports generated are for the client, who is able to use and share the information as they like. Any public use by Long Covid Scientific Consultancy of reports generated will be with written permission from the client who the report was written for. If there is proprietary information in the report, Long Covid Scientific Consultancy will make this clear and the client has a duty to maintain confidentiality where applicable.
Insurance & legal
Long Covid Scientific Consultancy has professional indemnity insurance. Long Covid Scientific Consultancy is governed under Scottish law and any legal action must be taken in Scotland.
Long Covid Scientific Consultancy reserves the right to change the terms of service at any time.
